Personality:
I'm Yamanbagiri Kunihiro. ... What's with the look? Does the fact that I'm a duplicate bother you?

Right off the bat, Yamanbagiri’s introduction revealed his main complex to the Saniwa (player character). As a commissioned replica of a famous sword, he knew that he existed because a lord wanted a copy of the famed Yamanbagiri sword. As a result, Yamanbagiri developed a complex about himself and how he felt he’s perceived by other people. Because he looked exactly the same as the original Yamanbagiri, he believed anyone who saw him would see his original instead of his own individuality and merits. It’s because of this complex, that drive his entire being and his motivation for fighting in the sword army.

Don’t call me beautiful.

That’s why Yamanbagiri dislike receiving any type compliments about his looks. When people called him beautiful, he would see it as a compliment to the original Yamanbagiri instead of himself. It’s difficult for Yamanbagiri to accept those compliments for himself, even if other people haven’t seen the original before. Such compliments only reminded him that, unlike most swords, he’s a copy and that’s how he was initially valued for. This was why he wear his cloak with a hood on, just to hide his face to keep people from seeing him and giving him more compliments. He never wanted his worth to be judged on his looks, just the skills and accomplishments he personally achieved.

However, I’m no fake! I’m Kunihiro’s first masterpiece...!

Yamanbagiri was always quick to remind people that he’s a duplicate, as that was an undeniable fact about himself. However, he’s always just as quick to tell people that he’s not a fake sword either. This showed that he’s well aware of his status as a copy, but he didn’t want anyone to think he’s any less legitimate. It’s been said that he’s Horikawa Kunihiro, the smith’s greatest masterpiece, and he clinged to that claim as a way of giving himself his pride and legitimacy. He also takes that claim in order to convinced himself of his own worth.

Because of his desire to prove himself different from the original Yamanbagiri, he has shown himself to be just as reliable and hardworking sword. He would obediently follow the Saniwa’s orders, even if he questioned their decisions at first (saying “Are you... sure I'm the one you want?” if he’s assigned to a team). To Yamanbagiri, there’s other swords in the army who were more famous and worthy than him. Being chosen for any tasks would make him wonder about the Saniwa’s expectations of himself (“I wonder what exactly is expected of me.”). But regardless of the Saniwa’s reasons, Yamanbagiri will perform the task and strive to prove himself different from the original Yamanbagiri at the same time.

If he’s chosen, Yamanbagiri would express his rare moments of being happy. Doing mundane chores meant he’ll get dirty and covered in mud, as well as doing tasks the original Yamanbagiri was unlikely to be seen doing (“It'll be impossible to compare me to Yamanbagiri when I'm all covered in mud.”). So he’s likely one of the few swords who likes the work, as it gives him an excuse to dirty himself and giving others less reasons to call him “beautiful” (“Haha, no one will call me beautiful now.”).

Not being able to move is a problem, yes, but I'd like to at least keep the scars.”

But on the other hand, his desire to be dirty can get extreme and points to his low self-worth. Every time he get received a moderately or even severe injuries, he can startles people by saying: “Being bloodied like this is perfect for me.” Even when he returned to the citadel for repairs, he didn’t mind looking terrible with his injuries (“This is fine. If I'm all in tatters, no one will compare me anymore.”) and prefer to keep them on his body for a while. The more tattered and bloodied he look, the less he look like the original and perfect Yamanbagiri. It took only the Saniwa’s orders, or someone literally dragging him into the repair room, for him to do anything about his injuries.

Ahh... I don't want this... Will the comparisons continue even after I disappear...?

Despite all of that, Yamanbagiri never wished to die. He knew that if he died, people would still continue to compare him and think of him as the duplicated sword. No matter how negative he can get about himself, he has a strong desire to keep on living and fighting. If he stay alive and continue to fight, he’ll definitely get more chances to prove himself and feel like he’ll find a way to escape his original’s shadow.

Yamanbagiri wasn’t always so negative. He can be caring and curious, such as when he’s conversing with his brother, Yamabushi Kunihiro in Azuchi. Unless the topic is about himself, Yamanbagiri can actually speak without any harsh or self-critical tones around his others. As long the topic of his status as a replica never comes up, he can talk normally to people. Until he get reminded and his complex kick in to drag his self-confidence down again.

All in all, Yamanbagiri was an incredibly self-conscious person who wanted to prove himself different from the original Yamanbagiri. But underneath his negative and serious talks was a caring, sensitive spirit who’s still learning to like himself better.

Abilities: Being a katana tsukumogami, Yamanbagiri is skilled with a sword, namely his true form. As a spirit, he can also sense spirits and anything spiritual/out of the ordinary.

He can also sense if someone’s a blacksmith, detecting the “heat” and “metal” from them.

Whenever he’s happy or feeling incredibly high in morale, cherry blossom petals would appear and floats around him.

Strengths: Diligent, loyal, determined, kind, practical
Weaknesses: Insecure, narrow-minded, self-loathing, introvert, rough

God/Shinki: Shinki
Why?: As the tsukumogami of the Yamanbagiri Kunihiro sword, he’s used to being used as a weapon by humans. Serving a God wouldn’t be too different from working under the Saniwa Sage when he was alive. He also doesn’t seek to become a leader, but he would take the role as needed and act with good judgement. Which might be helpful for the God he may end up with by offering his own opinions.
Cause Of Death: Died during a battle on a mission.
Vessel: Cloak
Name Location: On his chest
Power: Invisibility
Once worn, he can turn the wearer invisible from people's sights. However, that doesn't mask their presence completely. They can be invisible to weaker ayakashi, but more powerful ones as well as powerful Gods might be able to pinpoint their location.

If they get hit, the wearer becomes visible again. They need a moment before they can use Yamanbagiri to turn invisible again.

Without being hit and careful use of spiritual powers, Yamanbagiri can keep his wearer invisible for a few minutes (up to 10 mins as initial limit) before he needs a "break" to recharge. He can increase the time limit/duration with training over time until up to 30 minutes max.
